Amaya is a force of nature in the form of a tiny, 14 year old girl.
x
Not in any literal sense, mind you. It's simply that the force of the positivity she wields comes in about as blunt as a hammer to a nail. One thing that people will notice almost immediately about Amaya is that she's always got a smile on her face, a spring in her step, and the pep to bring it all together into a tiny, sunny package. Amaya is all smiles and kindness; she greets people easily, she'll talk to even strangers like they're old friends who've come to visit for the day, and more than anything, Amaya always endeavors to try and remember each and every person she meets. It's only right to, after all.
x
Another thing that people will notice about Amaya immediately is that she tends to be rather unfailingly polite; perhaps a little...unrefined in such a manner, but she's a girl who prioritizes manners in most situations. She knows to show respect to her superiors, and to refer to them duly, constantly referring to those older than her as "Miss" or "Sir" if she is not told otherwise. Amaya might be a naive little lady, but she's always been taught to respect those older than her and it comes out in how she interacts with others. Even if she's kind of not great at using 'please' sometimes, but she is, if nothing else, trying. It does kind of bite her when she's polite to even enemies, but it isn't something that Amaya is going to stop anytime soon.
x
Yet another very obvious trait of Amaya's outside of her extroversion and politeness is that she's unfailingly kind to others. It's something that comes easily to Amaya; to be kind to random strangers, to get to know them, to chat with them like they're old friends come to visit for the day. Amaya loves people, and it shows in many things she does. Amaya likes to listen to people, to hear them talk, and to let them be passionate and be passionate with them! Because she believes that is how one should interact with the world. This plays into many of Amaya's more practical skills as well; she practices healing magic, and she's more than willing to go out of her way to heal others as needed. She's also a pretty damn good cook, and if you ever let Amaya know what your favorite food is, she'll learn how to make it perfectly for you out of the kindness of her heart. She's the sort of person to give everything of herself, without expecting anything in return.
x
All of this plays into Amaya's generally peace-loving nature; she's the gal who will try to defuse bad situations before they get unbearable, and to try and get people to see sense in even bad situations, so that things can be resolved without conflict. She's a pacifist first and foremost; if a situation can be solved without conflict, that's what she'll want to do first and foremost unless the option isn't viable. It also plays into Amaya's apologetic nature in combat; she apologizes to those she has to fight, if she believes that such things could have been avoided. If given the choice and it would affect no one else poorly, Amaya would sooner lay down her arms and surrender, in the hopes that the situation could be resolved peacefully. In a perfect world, in her mind, everyone could come together and settle their differences with words alone.
x
That isn't to say that Amaya won't fight if she believes it to be necessary, and there are plenty of things that can spur her into action. Amaya can't tolerate anyone who would hurt others to get ahead; if a revolution is built off the back of people who have to get hurt in order for the revolution to succeed, then it isn't a good revolution. Amaya dislikes people who try to hurt innocent people for any reason, and it will spur her to fight unapologetically. Amaya won't hesitate to protect the people dear to her, should push come to shove. She may be a pacifist, and a healer at that, but injustice is something she can't stand no matter what.
x
That isn't to say that a sweet girl like her is without her flaws, and...bluntly put, Amaya has a lot of them. To start, Amaya is incredibly naive; she's always been a sheltered girl even in Mosaic, so there's a lot about the world that Amaya doesn't know. It also means that she's incredibly trusting, to the point that she'll believe just about anyone who's nice to her and take them at their word without hesitation unless told otherwise. It can absolutely lead to her getting tricked or hurt by those with ill intentions all too easily, or even worse. She's definitely the sort that needs someone there with her to make sure she doesn't do something stupid, and it absolutely works to her detriment.
x
Amaya is...also a little creepy, when push comes to shove. That smile on her face never seems to leave, even when it probably should. Like when she seems to be worried about others, or when she seems deeply angry with the actions of someone. That's...actually the thing; Amaya does not seem to be able to express such emotions. If her emotions go in any direction, it always defaults to extreme joy. To elation, to happiness, even when it's inappropriate. She constantly seems joyful even in situations that are dire, even when she's hurt, even when she's watching others be hurt. It can make her come off borderline sadistic, and honestly just really fucking creepy in general.
x
There's also the fact that Amaya isn't the sort to act on her own will all that often. Sure, she's more than willing to be kind to others on her own and act on her own interests to help others, but for the most part, Amaya just tends to follow people. That's what she's done most of her life with her best friends, after all; Amaya became a ninja guardian of Mosaic alongside her friends Hikari and Dawn because that was just what it felt right to do. Amaya follows Hikari along and tries to perform her cool ninja feats, even though she tends to get more scrapes and bruises more often than not. Amaya even tries to help Dawn on many occasions with carpentry, even though she doesn't know the first thing about it and tends to mess things up more often than not. She doesn't really know how to act entirely out of her own self interest, and if asked what she wants without the answer being 'to help others', Amaya will honestly balk a little bit before admitting she doesn't know. She doesn't really know how to act for herself, or live for herself.
x
And last, Amaya is incredibly self-sacrificial. It plays into a lot of her extroversion, and her kindness towards others; she will give everything of herself to others without hesitation. Even when she's tired. Even when she's told not to. Even when she's got nothing left. Even if it'd cost her dearly. She's the sort who would put herself in danger with a smile if given no other directions, all for the sake of others. It plays into her keyblade's powers, in that Two Virtues' healing can only be used for the sake of others. Amaya can't save herself, should the going get rough, and it doesn't really bother her at all. She's more than willing to take anything and everything to save her friends, and it's more to her own detriment more often than not.
